This WebQuest is designed for students to understand Living Things (strand in KLA Science and Technology). The aim is for students to acknowledge:
· The way living things interact with one another
· The way living things adapt to their environment
· All living things are different
· Living things grow, reproduce, move, need air, take in nutrients and eliminate wastes.

Students will research their information on the internet with the links that are provided on the WebQuest (Links to your animal page). The students will answer the questions with their partner on the process page, and then reunite with their group to discuss and take notes in their journal) of their team member’s information. You will collect and mark these journals at the end of the assessment. Make sure when students are researching their second animal, the partners in each group have swapped roles.

Below are some ideas you could employ and extend for this Animal WebQuest:

· Integration of various roles including economist or financial co-ordinator
·
Only focusing on Australian animals
· Visiting your local zoo - from this students will get an idea of what they should plan towards

· Creating a website based on the information students found
· Have students make an opening for the newly accomplished zoo in your classroom. Invite other classes to visit your zoo, where student’s diorama is presented around the classroom. Get the students to give their ‘visitors’ a brief description of their animal
